Tom Forderer
Originally from Zurich, Switzerland, Tom grew up in a family of creatives. His father was an architect and his brother is an interior architectural designer. From a young age, Tom’s creativity was expressed in various ways from building elaborate tree-houses to creating custom projects using mediums such as wood, leather, and metal. Tom has an eclectic background. He is a trained machinist and an officer in the Swiss Army as well as an accomplished ad man having spent 11 years in advertising filming, directing and editing. It is from these experiences where he honed his leadership & management skills and fine-tuned his penchant for precision. In the early 2000’s he moved to Southern Oregon where he began buying and fixing up foreclosed homes, as well as began work with a prominent local contractor. Shortly thereafter he got his contractor’s license and founded Swiss Construction. Tom enjoys all stages of the project whether it’s collaborating with the clients over the design to getting his hands dirty swinging a hammer and wearing a tool-belt. Tom’s creativity and vision allow him to excel at all building design styles from mid-century, modern, craftsman, or traditional. For Tom one of the most satisfying aspects of his job is project completion with thrilled clients, which he’s proud to say, often become lifelong friends.
